AAOS has four different categories of membership. Every new applicant must complete the Membership Application form for the category of membership for which they wish to apply.

Current members are required to complete an online renewal each year (see Annual Membership Renewals section at bottom of this page)

There are 4 categories of membership:

Fees apply from 1 March 2022:

• New members pay full fees when first joining
• Membership year is from April 1 – March 31*
• Members wishing to terminate membership must do so in writing (only), before October 31 of the year prior to the year of termination

* For the 2022/23 renewal onwards EARLY BIRD renewals commence on 1st March. Full price renewals will be in the month of April and will finish on 30th April.

Category 1: Associate Membership

This is open to any person currently qualified in their field of work who has at least 5 years professional experience and is currently training to be a Supervisor or who has partially completed an AAOS Registered Supervisor Training Program for the requirements to be eligible for membership as a Supervisor. Evidence of current membership of your Professional Association is a requirement of membership with AAOS. See AAOS Membership Application Form for more details.

Category 2: Supervisor

This is open to any person currently qualified in their field of work who has at least 5 years professional experience and has at least 3 years experience as a Supervisor. Evidence of membership of your Professional Association is a requirement of membership with AAOS.  The applicant must have completed an AAOS Recognised Supervisor Training Program or can seek recognition via RPL.  See AAOS Membership Application Form for more details.

Category 3: Supervisor Trainer

This is open to any person currently qualified in their field of work who has at least 5 years professional experience and at least 5 years as an AAOS Supervisor or equivalent as well as meeting all criteria for AAOS Supervisor Trainer.  Evidence of membership of your Professional Association is a requirement of membership with AAOS. See AAOS Membership Application Form for more details.

Category 4: Recognised Supervisor Training Program

This category is for any Training Provider wishing to have its Supervisor Training Program recognised by AAOS. The requirements for the training program are detailed on the Recognised Supervisor Training Program (RSTP) application form.

Annual Membership Renewals

• Annual renewals for the same category of membership are now all via an online renewal form – the link to which you will find in the Membership Renewal email we send you.

• Early Bird Fee*Existing members are eligible for the Early Bird rate if renewal and payment via EFT are received by close of business March 31
